Resolutely Rhodanian, Le Domaine de la Citadelle quivered under the Mistral wind all year round.
It benefits from the benevolent presence of the Luberon, which provides cool nights, making it one of the latest terroirs in the Rhône Valley.
At the Domaine you can visit the wine-making cellar (gravity work) and the maturing cellar (French oak barrels and tuns) with tasting of the different vintages, the Corkscrew Museum and the Botanical Garden.
The Domaine, built on the northern slope of the Luberon at the foot of the village of Ménerbes (one of the most beautiful villages in France), is made up of 46 hectares, which have been organically farmed since 2016.
On the 74 plots of land that make up the vineyard, 12 different grape varieties are grown, which make up the diversity of our vintages.
For the reds (60% of production), Syrah is the "king" grape variety and the basis of our blends with Grenache noir and Mourvèdre. They produce fine and elegant wines with good ageing potential.
In white wines, Roussanne, Grenache, Clairette and Rolle are the main grape varieties, complemented by Chardonnay and Viognier, and offer good acidity and minerality on the palate.
For our rosés, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre offer freshness, complexity and pleasure.
La Citadelle also offers guided tours with tasting for groups (in French and English) of the cellars and winery to learn all about the typicality of this terroir while tasting our different wines.

In 2018, the botanical garden of the Domaine was created on 18th century terraces. During an olfactory walk of about 1 hour, you can discover its aromatic, medicinal, wild edible, carnivorous and even magical plants.

The Domaine offers "gourmet moments" on its "calade", in the summer under the parasols or in a cool room, for a picnic out of the bag, a meal prepared by one of our service providers (on quotation) or simply to enjoy a drink in complete privacy.
The Citadelle is also an ideal place for your private events: engagements, weddings, birthdays for which the teams prepare an aperitif.
