More than just a waterway, the Siagne is a real river that crosses the departments of the Var and Alpes-Maritimes before flowing into the Mediterranean Sea. But it's most beautiful part is undeniably its gorges, which you will find near the hilltop villages of the Pays de Fayence: Callian, Montauroux, Mons and Tanneron.
Over the millennia, the river has carved out magnificent gorges, dizzyingly high in some places, in a landscape both rocky and richly forested. The exceptional flora and fauna have earned the site the classification as a "Special Conservation Zone" in the Natura 2000 Network. The cascades, the caves and the natural bridges will delight all lovers of hiking and untamed natural surroundings. You can also go fishing and rock-climbing here, all while respecting, of course, the environment and its fragility.
Or, quite simply, on a sweltering summer's day, when you hear down at the bottom of the deep valleys the happy shouts of children playing, be like them and let yourself be tempted by a splash or a swim in the green and refreshing waters of the gorges.
