The University of Wine in Suze la Rousse

The University of Wine in Suze-la-Rousse was founded in 1978; winemakers and national viticulture organisations worked together to accomplish this project. From its start, a close collaboration developed between wine professionals and the university faculty.
Today, its renown is international, set in a historic environment since the university set up its oenological and agronomical laboratory in the château of Suze la Rousse.
This historic site perfectly brings together guided tours of the château, the work of the professors and students of the University of Wine as well as the rooms and halls reserved for receptions, seminars and conferences.

A private, higher education is provided. The courses offered specialize in sensorial analysis and tasting, the rules and regulations, the defence of the appellations d'origines, the knowledge and management of the terroirs, theory and practical classes in learning about the grape varieties, cooking classes with a teaching about the land.
All the courses, whether they are technical, business or oenological are indispensable for the wine industry. Wine is taught in all its aspects.
The University of Wine welcomes and offers on the premises activities for companies, wine-lovers, and connoisseurs as well as cultural activities based on wine.
The château lives throughout the year in harmony with a dynamic university and cultural events.
