The Villa d'Ephrussi de Rothschild overlooks the harbour of Villefranche sur Mer and the bay of Beaulieu sur Mer.
Of Italian inspiration – Lombard, Tuscan, Venetian with an added Spanish touch – this veritable palazzo built between 1905 and 1912 on the northernmost part of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is the dream turned into reality of the Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild.
Today, it houses a vast collection of artworks, 18th century furniture and Sèvres and Vincennes porcelains.
The Villa is surrounded by nine gardens in different styles: French, Florentine, Spanish, tropical, stone, Japanese, Provençal... A water and music show animated the French-style garden every 20 minutes. And children have not been forgotten with an enigma hunt for 7 to 12 year olds.
The Azuriales Opera Festival takes place here every August, a unique opera experience.
