Arrived in Provence thirty years ago, Rahim Najfar is a performer in love with his adopted homeland. He never stopped painting Luberon, its harsh, sometimes snow-covered hills and its flowery plains. While persisting in the most audacious colorism, he continues to escape towards other horizons that are less realistic, more dreamlike, and just as constructed. A remarkable work, in which the colorist associates, opposes and explodes the colors to make them sing, vibrate and create a spectacle that is both subtle and splendid.
